Location And Logistics

Where do sessions take place — do you have a studio?

There is no studio. Georgie comes to you – she travels to your office, home or preferred outdoor location within a 30-minute drive from the CBD. This means no travel stress for you.

If you are outside the service radius call Georgie on 0414 679 797 to discuss options. Travel beyond the service area may incur an additional cost.

What if I don’t have a suitable location?

Georgie knows a range of great natural light locations for headshots and personal branding shoots across the Sydney CBD and inner suburbs – she can suggest the right spot for your purpose.  Maybe check with friends or family who live within the service radius who could offer their home or office as a location. 

Before Your Photo Shoot

What should I wear for a headshot photo shoot?

Solid colours photograph best – navy, black, grey, white and tones that compliment your eye colour all work well. Avoid busy patterns, large logos and very low necklines, as these distract from your face. Make sure your clothes fit properly – try them on beforehand so nothing is too tight or too loose on the photo shoot day.

Do I need professional hair and makeup?

No – your everyday makeup is perfectly fine for most headshot sessions. But you can get your hair done beforehand if you like. Georgie’s lighting will be flattering and post production will enhance your eyes, hair and skin. If you do want professional makeup, a MECCA store make-up session is an easy and affordable option – there are locations across Sydney.

How do I prepare for the photo shoot?

Georgie will call you before the session to talk through location, style (studio or natural light look), what to wear, and any questions you have. Make sure you get a good night’s sleep the night before. On the day, arrive feeling relaxed and open minded.  Most people feel a little nervous in front of the camera – Georgie’s approach is friendly and low-key and clients typically settle in within the first few minutes.

How long does a session take?

Session length varies by service type:

Sessions are kept intentionally short as most people are not used to being photographed, short sessions keep you look fresh throughout the session.

Bookings also include a 30 min set up at the beginning of the session and 30 min pack up time at the end of the session. 

What if I feel anxious about being photographed?

Most clients feel some nerves before a shoot – it is completely normal. Georgie’s approach is relaxed and conversational: she guides you through every pose and expression, tells you exactly what looks good, and keeps the atmosphere light. Clients who describe themselves as “not photogenic” regularly walk away with images they love. There is no pressure and no rush.

What equipment does Georgie use?

Georgie shoots with a high-end Sony camera system and Profoto studio lighting – widely considered the professional standard for portrait and headshot work. Post-production is done on an Apple Mac using Adobe software. All images are captured in RAW format for the highest possible quality before editing.

After Your Photo Shoot

When will I receive my final photos?

Your proof gallery – showing the images from the session – is ready to view within 48 hours after final payment.  You choose your favourites from the gallery.  

How many images do I receive?

The number of photos depends on your package:

Additional images are $70 each

How are the final images delivered?

Your final high-resolution JPEG images are delivered via a private gallery link within 48 hours after making your final image choices. You can download your images directly from the gallery or a supplied Zip link.

What does retouching involve?

Retouching removes temporary distractions – blemishes, stray hairs, lint on clothing – and refines the overall look with brightened eyes and even skin tone. Georgie’s retouching style is natural: you will look polished but like yourself, as if you’ve had a great night’s sleep. Permanent features are always kept as they are – Retouching example. 

Can I get the RAW files?

RAW files are not supplied. They are unfinished working files – the equivalent of unprocessed film negatives – and require professional colour correction and retouching before they look their best. Providing only fully edited, high-resolution JPEGs ensures you receive consistent, publication-ready images that represent Georgie’s quality standard.

Usage And Copyright

Can I use my photos on my website and social media?

Yes – your headshots are licensed for personal and professional promotion and marketing, including LinkedIn, your website, social media profiles, print brochures, conference materials, and PR. This covers all standard business use at no extra cost.

Can I use my images in paid advertising?

Commercial use – including paid advertising, product packaging or any application where the image is used to generate revenue directly – requires written consent from Georgie Greene Photography and will incur additional licensing fees. Contact Georgie to discuss your requirements before use.  But personal branding and food photography pricing reflects full commercial usage. 

Who owns the copyright to the photos?

Under Australian copyright law, the photographer retains copyright to all images. Georgie may use selected images for her own marketing – website or social media – but your name will never be published without your permission and if you prefer your images not to be used for promotional purposes, simply let Georgie know by the time you have received your final images.

Payment

How do I pay?

A 25% deposit is charged at the time of booking online by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, or Google Pay). This secures your spot. The remaining balance is only charged after the photo shoot, you can pay by credit card, PayPal, or direct bank transfer. If a credit card facility is not available, Georgie can send you an invoice.

Yes – gift vouchers are available and make an ideal gift for anyone who needs a headshot for their career or business – book a voucher online
