About Georgie Greene

Before becoming a photographer, I finished my corporate career as a Senior Lead Production Manager with ABC News and Current Affairs. While it may seem like an unusual path into photography, it’s one of the greatest strengths I bring to every shoot.

For more than two decades, I worked alongside executives, lawyers, journalists, marketers, publicists, accountants, producers, presenters, creatives and technical teams. I understand that every role and profession communicates something different.

A lawyer needs to project professionalism and a CEO may need to show confidence. Creating the right portrait isn’t simply about looking good – it’s also about communicating the right message.

Many of my clients arrive convinced they’re “not photogenic” or ‘uncomfortable’ in front of the camera.

Having worked with professionals from a wide range of industries, I can usually find common ground quickly and start a relaxed conversation about something familiar or relevant to my client. This helps take the focus away from the camera and gives my client time to settle into the session naturally.

When you feel comfortable, relaxed and properly supported, your genuine personality begins to show. That is when the most natural, confident and authentic expressions emerge – creating headshots that feel real.

Having spent years working under deadlines and constant pressure, I know that booking a photo shoot can feel like another task on an already full calendar.

That’s why I make the experience simple, efficient and enjoyable. I’ll guide you through every step, helping you switch off from the day’s demands so we can create photographs that feel natural and relaxed.

Professional lighting, camera settings and flattering angles are only the starting point.

The real work happens in capturing the facial expression that feels genuine.

I focus on creating photographs that communicate confidence, professionalism and warmth without looking overly posed. Whether it’s a LinkedIn headshot, a personal branding session or a dating profile, the goal is always the same – to create images that reflect who you are and how you want others to see you.

Photography allows me to combine two areas I know intimately: the corporate world and portraiture

Because I’ve spent decades on the other side of the camera, I understand how important first impressions are and the pressure people feel when representing themselves professionally.

That perspective helps me create photographs with purpose – images that help people win new roles, build trust with clients, grow their businesses, strengthen their personal brands and in some cases, even meet a lifelong partner.

I share practical advice weekly on LinkedIn to help professionals and business owners make confident decisions when hiring a photographer for personal branding, individual headshots or team photography. From avoiding common pitfalls to understanding what to look for before booking. These posts are designed to help you create professional images that represent you and your business at their best.

After a 23-year career in Australian broadcast media, I finally answered a calling that had been with me since childhood: photography.

My love of photography began at the age of eight when my late father gave me a simple Russian point-and-shoot camera. Decades later, during the COVID years, I immersed myself in learning the craft professionally, graduating in the top 5% of students from The Photography Institute in 2022.

Photography, however, isn’t where my creative journey began. I also hold a BA (Hons) in Art and History of Art from the Cambridge Art School, where I spent years studying the great artists, their use of light, composition and storytelling. That artistic foundation continues to influence every portrait I create.

Today, I have the privilege of helping professionals, business owners and individuals present themselves with confidence through headshots, personal branding and dating photography.

The Japanese concept of Ikigai describes the point where what you love, what you’re good at and what helps others all come together.

Photography has become my Ikigai.

Every day I have the opportunity to combine creativity with human connection, helping people feel proud of the way they present themselves to the world.

“Photography inspires me to start each day with purpose, knowing I can make a positive difference in someone’s life.”

Long before I became a professional photographer, I was fascinated by art.

Studying the great painters taught me to see light, colour and composition in ways that continue to influence my photography today. I’ve always enjoyed painting myself – whether with oils or digitally. But these days my camera has become my paintbrush and light is my palette.

Portrait photography brings together everything I love: creativity, technical skill and most importantly, people. There is nothing more rewarding than creating an image that helps someone see themselves at their very best.

Here’s a podcast from May 2026 where I talk to Kurt Sneddon about my photography business. We cover reinventing yourself later in life, dating photography, building confidence with nervous clients, and balancing creativity with business.

I’m also proud to be Sydney’s Associate Member for Headshots MatterStudent Headshots and Authentica – global communities of headshot photographers who support and learn from each other, with only one chosen Associate Member per city.

Wildlife photography is also a big passion of mine. Getting out into nature and seeing it close up with my lens. Appreciating and capturing the World around us. When I first started in photography, the birds were my first models, where I learnt light and composition.
